QUINOA REAL Restaurante

"This is probably the best restaurant in the small town of San Antonio de Los Cobres. The menu focuses, and rightly so!, on regional foods and meats (including llama). The food is really good, the prices very honest and the portions generous. The house wine is also excellent, in spite of its price being so low. The Andean salad, with goat cheese, and the vegetable soup were excellent. Unfortunately the lamb roast looked fabulous, but was terribly tough, to the point that it was almost impossible to cut the meat. Still 5 stars because when I showed it to the waiter he apologized and took it off the bill at the end of the meal. Excellent customer care! All personnel, both the waiter and in the kitchen, wear a nice uniform, a bit of a contrast to the fact that it is a really cozy, homely, restaurant, with a moped parked between a table and a wall... Still, a very enjoyable experience and overall very good food (and wine!)."

"For the 1st time in my life, I tried llama meat. I took a black pepper llama fillet with andean potatoes. It was tender, succulent, and cooked to its best point. Llama has that kind of long muscle fibres that I like in some beef's cuts. I started with an Andean quinoa soup, which was also delicious. Absolutely recommended. The place to go when in San Antonio de los Cobres!"

"Great food in a small out of the way town. The grilled mutton was the best meat I've had in Argentina! Everything else was good as well, but the llama stew was out second favorite. I hear they have a local Quinoa beer as well, though I didn't try it."

"Delicious lunch in San Antonio De Los Cobres - possibly one of the best meals we have eaten in Argentina. The food is home cooked goodness and the owners are lovely - so welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend the Quinoa stew and the Lamb stew with potatoes. Both delicious! They have WiFi too. Forgot to take photos of the food as it was so tasty."
